Group Assignment
In wp-admin, under Settings > BP Simple Events, you will see an additional option:
‘Give Groups the option to assign Events’.
When selected, Group Administrators can choose whether to allow group members to assign an event to that group. The option will appear on each group home page under Manage > Events.
The Group home page will then include an ‘Events’ tab that will be populated with all assigned Events.
Event Creation
When creating an Event on their profile, members will see a list of checkboxes for all Groups they belong to that have chosen to allow Event assignment.
They will also see options related to an ‘Attending’ button.
The option to receive emails regarding changes in Event attendance is located on each member profile under Settings > Email.
Depending on the option selected, the list of attendees will appear as names or avatars:
All styles ( buttons, etc. ) will be inherited from your theme.
A language file is provided so you can change or translate all text.
If you do NOT need support for…
- search
- a Map showing all Events
- a Settings screen for Map options
- an End date
- an Image
- an Attending button
- assignment to a Group
- a shortcode for the Map
- a text editor for the Event description field
… then please see our free plugin: BuddyPress Simple Events.
Please note that this plugin uses the Google Maps API.
Please note that this plugin does NOT support networked ( multisite ) installations.

Nice uncomplicated events plugin.
Hi
Is there a demo version of “BuddyPress Simple Events Pro” we can test with?
we want to see mainly how do users create and see the recurring events on front end.
thank you
To see how users create Events, you can try the free version: BP Simple Events.
Neither version includes recurring events.
I love this plugin. It’s simple, purposeful and well integrated into BuddyPress/BuddyBoss. When looking for an events tool for my BuddyBoss website I reviewed The Events Calendar, Events Manager and others. The bells and whistles of those systems create more challenges than they do solutions. BuddyPress Simple Events Pro shines through making it easy for BuddyPress group organizers to add and edit events, track attendees (RSVPs) and is easy to implement and manage. Not to mention it also integrates with the BuddyPress Activity Feed. The only consideration is that it may be necessary for you to edit templates and add your own CSS to modify the layout and style to match your site. All the stars!
Hi,
You warn that your plugin does not support multisite installations.
I have a BuddyBoss networked site, on which the BB platform plugin has been activated separately on each blog of the network, and it works perfectly.
Wouldn’t your plugin function if I did the same ?
It would be nice if it was that simple, but it is not.
There a number of factors that can make support for networked sites complicated, therefore we decided to keep it simple.
Can the plugin send email notifications to my BuddyBoss Profile Followers/Connections?
No. It does not support Invites or Followers/Connections.
It does provide an option for an Event creator to receive email notifications when a member decides to attend the event.
Does this plugin allow for users to see events on other user’s profiles? For example, I visit another user’s profile and can see their upcoming events listed there.
Yes.
Is there a way to import events into simple events pro?
No.
Is there a shortcode I can use on an elementor page to list the events?
There is only a shortcode for the Events map:
[eventsmap height="250" title="Events Map"]
We don’t know if it will work on an elementor page.
We will consider including a shortcode for listing events – release date TBD.
Don’t have to export in ical?
No.
I have replied to your questions via the email you provided.
Please check you spam folder or provide a different email address.
Hello, I would like to purchase this plugin. Is it still compatible with the latest version of BuddyBoss? Is there a refund policy if it doesn’t work out? Thank you.
Yes, it is compatible with the latest version of the BuddyBoss Platform and Buddypress.
For info about the refund policy, please review that section in the Terms of Agreement.
Is there an option for the interested attendee to always wait for the organizer to approve his attendance?
For example, I setup an event for a “girls night out”, and I only want to approve ladies.
No, there is no such option at this time.
Is this license only valid for one year? After a year, can I no longer use the plugin if I don’t renew?
You can continue to use the plugin after one year – but you will not be able to download new updates after one year.
Do group events respect the groups’ privacy settings? e.g. Would a private group’s events show in the map of all events?
Yes, privacy settings are respected. An event assigned to a private group will only appear on the Events map and listings if the current user is a member of that group.
I just installed simple events pro and created a test event. When I click on link provided by the new event I get error message saying “Oops! That page can’t be found.”
Now what?
Make sure you resave your permalinks. They should be set to “Post Name”. Then create another test event.
